All You Need to Know When Starting to Vape

Are you considering giving up smoking cigarettes? Have the continued price hikes driven you to look at an alternative? Just brought a vape starter kit, but not sure where to begin. If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you are in the right place; this short piece will aim to give you all the information surrounding the vaping world, the different vape devices, and varied e-liquids available and how to advance onto other vape machines. Armed with these facts, you can plan your vaping journey and successfully show smoking the door.

Starting Out Simple

Vaping devices are relatively simple machines; you fill them up, charge them and use them, there are some additional bells and whistles on the more advanced machines, but the process essentially remains the same. The most basic vape device and a super starting point for the new vaper is the disposable vape pen or pod, already pre-filled with e-liquid or vape juice and charged with enough power to vape. They are easy to use and give the new vaper a taste of what vaping has to offer; they’re also fairly cheap, so trying vaping isn’t expensive. From there, vapers can move onto refillable and rechargeable devices such as vape pens or one of the full starter kits most suppliers offer, which are an excellent entry point.

Discussing Vaping Liquids

All vape devices use a tank system filled with e-liquid. Inside the tank is a wick with a cotton core that soaks up the liquid; heat is applied via power from an internal battery, and the liquid is turned into a vapour which is then inhaled. The basics remain the same for nearly all vape devices but with subtle, varied differences with the more advanced vapes. E-liquid, vapour juice or vape liquid are all names for the liquid used in vape devices, and it is a combination of four main ingredients. Which are –

  • Propylene Glycol – an organic food and medicine component which is a great carrier of flavour.
  • Vegetable Glycerine – is a clear liquid made from plant oils and allows the production of large clouds of vapour.
  • Food-based flavourings – these are the food industry staples used in many products.

The fourth important element is nicotine; more commonly, this is pre-mixed into a complete and ready-to-use liquid. There are possibilities further in a vaper’s career to buy e-liquid minus the nicotine, referred to as shortfill e-liquid; the vaper then adds the required number of nicotine elements called the shot.

Advancing To Bigger and Better

When you have got used to your starting vape device and tried some of the delicious vape liquid flavours, it may be time to move on to something more advanced. Vape devices with adjustable power packs and variable wattage are an option, as is a step up to the latest in vape device design, the vape pod. Vape pods swap the traditional tank design for a switchable pod; they are refillable and enable the vaper to switch between different e-liquid flavours. Once the coil is finished, the pod is swapped for a new one, rather than changing the coil as needed in a normal tank-designed device.

So, there you have it, the vaping basics. Hopefully, armed with this valuable information; you can plot your vaping journey with confidence, with enjoyment as the destination.
